Wushu - Men's Changquan: China's SUN Peiyuan wins the first Gold medal of the 18th Asian Games. This is China's 2900th overall medal in the history of the Asian Games. What a start! Interestingly, China was also the first to a Gold medal in the previous edition in 2014 ( held at Incheon, South Korea).

 Swimming, Men's 200m Freestyle: India's Saurabh finishes second out of 3 competitors (Heat 1), fails to qualify for the final event. He finishes on the 24th position (Total- 34).

10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event - India's Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar finish second in qualifiers with 835.3 points. They are through to the Finals. 

Men's 200M Freestyle (HEATS) -  Indian swimmer Saurabh Sangvekar finishes second in 200m Freestyle heats.
