New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday welcomed his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau and his family at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Trudeau was earlier given a 'Guard of Honour' at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The visiting Canadian leader will hold strategic talks with PM Modi. The Modi-Trudeau meeting comes amid a row over a 'rescinded' invite from the Canadian High Commission to a convicted Khalistan separatist, Jaspal Atwal, for a dinner reception in honour of the visiting Canadian PM in Mumbai.
In view of the controversy, Trudeau on Thursday said that Atwal should not have been invited.
