Karnataka Live Updates: Karnataka: BJP in no rush to form government, to wait for SC verdict
Following the trust vote, BJP’s BS Yeddyurappa declared that he would meet Governor Vajubhai Vala to stake claim for government formation.
"Today, I invited all my senior officers and thanked them," says Kumaraswamy. "While I honoured them, I gave some suggestions - in future, same kind of political developments will take place, instability of government may continue even after the new government is invited by the Governor."
Former prime minister and JDS leader HD Deve Gowda says, "We have no regret of having the last coalition government. We are not accusing anyone, including the former Chief Minister and other senior ministers." Targeting the BJP, the veteran leader said, "The way in which things have happened in Karnataka, I have never seen in my political career. The way in which a national party, BJP leadership allowed this type of horse trading, I have never seen in my life."
BJP sources said that the party is going to form the government in Karnataka but it is no rush to stake claim to form the government. Sources added that the BJP will wait for Supreme Court's verdict in this matter. BS Yeddyurappa will become the chief minister because he is already the party president in Karnataka and also the leader of legislators.
BS Yeddyurappa seeks blessings of senior RSS leaders, says he is awaiting instruction for Delhi to go ahead with the legislative party meeting, following which he will go to Raj Bhavan to stake claim for government formation in Karnataka.
BJP legislative party meeting yet to start. According to sources, the meeting will be held only after a message comes from the Parliamentary Committee.
Rebel Karnataka MLAs, who has approached the Supreme Court for trust vote in the state, informed the bench about the development. However, the bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi did not allow them to withdraw their plea, saying any decision would be taken in the presence of senior lawyers. Junior lawyers had appeared before the court.

Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah has said that the rebel MLAs will not be inducted back to the Congress "even if the sky is falling down". He tweeted, "I would like to reaffirm that those who have fallen for Operation Kamala will never be inducted back to our party. Even if the sky is falling down!!"
