Tata Nexon EV MAX 2022 India launch LIVE updates: Price, Mileage, Features, Design and more

Safety wise, the Tata Nexon EV MAX comprises of features like ESP with i-VBAC (intelligent – Vacuum-less Boost & Active Control), Hill Hold, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Vehicle Hold and all 4-Disc brakes. Making it a complete package, the promise of reliability and durability of Ziptron continues on Nexon EV Max with its battery and motor pack being IP67 rated for a weather-proof and worry-proof performance. 

Since its entry into the personal EV space in 2020, Tata Motors has launched more tha 25,000 EVs, making it the leading EV maker in the country, out of which over 19,000 are Nexon EVs, again, the best-selling electric car in India.

With Nexon EV MAX, Tata Motors has intorduced a Multi-Mode Regen feature which will help customers to easily adjust the level of regenerative braking through switches on the floor console. Customers can choose between 4 regen levels based on the driving conditions: Level 0 with nil recuperative braking, going up to the highest Level 3 aiding single pedal driving. The Company has also added an intuitive feature – auto brake lamps which gets activated once a certain level of regen is achieved, this helps to alert fellow motorists.

Taking the charging experience to the Max level, the Nexon EV Max will be available with options of a 3.3 kW charger or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger can be installed either at home or at workplace, which helps in reducing charging time to 6.5 hrs. Making it an irresistible proposition, the Nexon EV MAX will support a faster charging time of 0 – 80% in just 56 mins from any 50 kW DC fast charger.

The Nexon EV MAX produces 105 kW (143 PS) of power and delivers an instant torque of 250 Nm available at push of the pedal, resulting in 0 to 100 sprint times in under 9 secs.

The Tata Nexon EV MAX to get a maximum (ARAI-claimed) mileage of 437 km on a single charge, which is 33 percent higher than the Nexon EV, rated at 312 km.

The Tata Nexon EV MAX will get 160000 km/ 8 warranty, like the Nexon EV

The Tata Nexon EV MAX will get MAX features including Range, Luxury, Features among others. 

As per Tata's top management, almost 80 percent of Tata Nexon EV owners are using the electric SUV as their primary vehicle. More and more customers are taking the Tata Nexon EV for inter-city travel, giving impetus to a long range version.

Tata Nexon EV MAX Battery Range

The current Tata Nexon EV comes with a 30.2 kWh battery, but the Nexon EV Max will have a 40 kWh battery, and backed by Tata’s Ziptron technology. We can expect a battery range close to 425 km on a single charge, as against 312 km (ARAI tested) for Nexon EV.

The Tata Nexon EV MAX, once launched, will join the Tata Tigor EV, Tata X-Press T for fleet owners and the Tata Nexon EV, on which the MAX is based on.

As revealed recently by Tata Motors, the new EV will be placed along side the regular Nexon EV, which is the best-selling electric car in India. Both the cars will continue to sell parallely in India. 

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Tata Nexon EV MAX in India today, that promises a better battery range, expected to be more than 400 km on a single charge, apart from added features.
